An hour ago now, the Dev Team has released redsn0w 0.9.10b1 to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1untethered way for the iPhone 3G, iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPod touch 3G and 4G. The flaw is that of French hacker Pod2G that has come out against the cros Apple. Good news, the jailbreak can be done from a Mac or a PC running Windows. All are housed in the same boat. Note, if you're currently tethered, follow this tutorial by unchecking the "Install Cydia" (or install the tweak "Corona" on Cydia).
6. That's it! Upon restart, you will have a 5.0.1 jailbroken iOS so untethered.
Requirements:
- Latest version of iTunes installed
- 0.9.10b3 redsn0w for Mac OS X or Windows redsn0w 0.9.10b3
- iOS 5.0.1 installed
Procedure:
1. Update your device to iOS 5.0.1 firmware.
2. Connect your device to your computer via the USB cable.
3. Start Redsn0w , click on "Jailbreak".
4. Put yourself now in DFU mode. Switch off your device and follow the instructions below:
- Press the POWER button for 3 seconds
- While still pressing the power button, hold the HOME button for 10 seconds
- Release the POWER button, press and hold the HOME button for 15 seconds
5. Select " Install Cydia ".
