Released the first release candidate for VLC for Mac 2.0

After a first version can not be used on many machines, here is finally the RC1 (stable) version of VLC for Mac 2.0, the second major release of the most popular open source media player. This beta release contains all the news that we will find after the release of official and gives Mac users a  sneak peek on new and exciting features introduced in the program.

The new version retains many of the new graphics that will be introduced in VLC 1.2, which is still in testing phase, stop at the preview 4 [http://bit.ly/wOvk64]. The release candidate is distributed in three different versions, one for Mac OS X 10.6/10.7, Mac OS X 10.5 and PowerPC. It can not be performed on Hackintosh Mac OS or virtual machines because of the lack Quartz Extreme graphics hardware acceleration. Here are the links for download:

Among the key changes include: the new sidebar for quick access to system directories, your local network and web content, the new drag & drop function for opening a media file, support for Full Screen Lion, the controls for Playlist multimedia control audio and video effects, native support for extensions, control the opacity of the subtitles, support for Growl notifications.
